rosie2Rosie McDavid, MSW

Rosie McDavid is the Program Coordinator for the Ole Miss First Scholarship program. She is a 1983 graduate of the University of Mississippi, and received her Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Alabama in 1985.

While in Oxford, she has been involved in a variety of settings providing mentoring to youth and young adults including the Leap Frog tutoring program, the Episcopal Church at Ole Miss and the Ole Miss Women’s Council Scholarship Program, prior to joining the staff of Ole Miss First. As the Program Coordinator, her duties include mentoring students, coordinating student dinners and volunteer opportunities. supervising office staff, serving as a liaison between students and donors and representing Ole Miss First in the larger community.


Molly Conway

Graduate Assistant

Molly Conway is a second year Master’s student in Southern Studies. Her internship and thesis are with Behind the Big House, a program in Holly Springs that explores the often overlooked history of the structures where enslaved people lived.  She is a native of Grand Rapids, Michigan, but moved to Jackson, Mississippi with her parents in 2007. Outside of exploring Southern culture, Molly enjoys watching action and comedy movies, playing with her dog Scout, and rooting for Ole Miss and Michigan football.


Lauren VelineLauren Veline

Graduate Assistant

Lauren Veline is a second year Master’s student in Southern Studies. Her thesis research focuses on how the South and marginalized groups within the South are represented in the media and popular culture. She is a native of the South Carolina Lowcountry and she received her BA in Advertising from the University of South Carolina in 2015. She enjoys live music, record collecting, and SEC football and baseball.


Barbara DaushBarbara Daush

Regional Development Officer

Barbara Daush is a 1974 graduate of the University of Mississippi with a BA in Latin. She received her M.A.T. in Secondary Education and English from University of Memphis, and her M.Ed in Guidance and Counseling also from the University of Memphis. For the last 22 years, Barbara has served as the President of St. Agnes Academy- St. Dominic School in Memphis, TN. She and her husband, Mike, have two sons and daughters-in-law and three adored grandchildren. Barbara is thrilled to be back on the Ole Miss campus as a professional with the UM Foundation.
